Round Room Mega Grant

We announced that we were choosing one Indianapolis-based nonprofit to win a $100,000 MEGA Grant, sponsored by Round Room. But we couldn’t pick just one. We ended up giving all seven finalists $100,000 plus a vehicle package for their transportation needs. On top of that, DREAM Alive won an additional $580,000. In total, we gave away $1.7 million to these amazing nonprofit organizations!

Congratulations to our seven winners: 100 Black Men of Indianapolis, 91 Place, Ben’s Ranch Foundation, Coburn Place, Cocktails & Caregivers, DREAM Alive, and Trinity Haven.

Making a difference

Founded in 2003 with the realization that as local business owners, we wanted to support our communities as much as they support us.

Today we continue to raise a significant amount of money and support a large number of local and national charities and causes. We have time-honored relationships with Autism Speaks, Make-A-Wish, Children’s Tumor Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Best Friends Animal Society, Homes for Our Troops, Sandy Hook Promise and No Kid Hungry by Share Our Strength.

From our family to yours

Everyone at Wireless Zone®, from franchisees to corporate employees, plays a role in our efforts to give back. On top of our system-wide fundraising campaigns, each year Wireless Zone® franchisees and employees nominate a local charity for a community grant. We’ve shown year after year that we really can positively impact the lives of those around us in meaningful ways.

FAQs

What are the requirements to apply for a grant?

1. You must be in a community where a WZ store is located. To determine your eligibility, click here to search for a WZ store in your area.
2. You will need to find an employee sponsor. Please visit the store in person and speak to the store manager, who can work with the employees to find your best sponsor.

How often are grants awarded?

WZ Gives awards grants quarterly during the following months: January, April, July and October. Grants are due the second Friday of each cycle month.

Can we apply again if we did not get any money granted to us?

Yes, but we would highly recommend you work with the director of WZ Gives ([email protected]) and your employee sponsor to make some revisions to your grant before re-applying.

Is there anything WZ Gives will not fund?

WZ Gives will not fund salary positions, political activity or sponsor events. WZ Gives funds projects related to people, children, animals and the environment.

Why do you require an employee sponsor?

We do this to encourage more relationships in our communities. WZ is always interested in helping local nonprofits and getting involved in volunteer opportunities when available.

What does the grant committee want to see for a favorable application?

The grant committee is most interested in supporting the nonprofits our employees and customers care about. When selecting grants, the committee considers involvement and passion from the local store employees, budget (projects that are $10,000 or less are preferred) and impact of the donation request.

Our organization is interested in participating in More Than a Phone. How can we help those in need in our communities?

Please contact [email protected] for more information and put “More Than A Phone” in the subject line. Courtney will connect you with the necessary people in your communities.

I am interested in becoming a Community Partner to support the More Than a Phone initiative. How do I help?

Thank you for your interest in supporting us and the efforts made by the local nonprofit partner! You can contact [email protected]and she will work on the partnership. You can also let your local WZ location know you are interested. Please meet with the store manager.
